Education: A human right or privilege?

Education in today’s society is a critical thing to have. Our people today take advantage of this human right we have now. From the looks of it, the United States has made higher learning more as a commodity rather than a right because of the cost. A standard education from pre k to twelfth grade is a human right. Depending where you are financially in your life affects your right for any higher education.

Before our modern world with technology, education was a lot different. You would go to the library or school to learn. It’s the same today but just more advanced which makes it easier for the people. Education was offered to the wealthy or ones in power. Living in that time period and given that option, it was harder to get a free education no matter if it was a standard one or for higher learning. With all the disputes today it takes hundreds of years to overcome any change as drastic as this.

As education makes society better we offered to all as long as they are willing to attend. The more educated people we have the less crime we have and more influencing about things that we need to know in the world. With higher education it helps us as a nation look better. We as a nation only have one problem. The student debt for higher education rises every year for vast majority that would like to attend school for higher learning. It puts our graduates in debt as soon as they come out of an institution. Having a degree does not for sure a job so it would be difficult to pay such debt in a matter of time. Since we figured out a way for all students to get a higher education whether its student loans, grants, or even if your parents pay for it, somehow have to pay it back. We need to establish something that can help our graduates for sure a job in there career field so they can pay back what they borrowed.
