Applying the Five-Step Model to Solving My Problem of Infertility

To initiate a solution to solving my problem, I must first define what my actual problem is; attempting to understand the cause and effect, will allow me to analyze the root-cause of how the problem surfaced. Steps 3 and 4 of the model will allow me to create possible solutions and evaluate which options would best solve my current problem. Lastly, I need to implement the best method in solving the problem, monitoring if the solution is effective and if not, adjusting my options to improve better results.

Facing Infertility

I had waited and dreamt of having a child my entire life and wanted nothing more than to be someone’s mommy. I never expected to have problems with becoming pregnant as none of the other women in my family had before me. After several years of trying to conceive, we knew it was time to seek help. For us to discover the root-cause of our problems, we had to look for a fertility specialist. I had endured months and months of grueling testing. To say I was overwhelmed was an understatement. I would go to the doctor's office on a daily basis, getting ultrasounds, doing bloodwork, etc. Once all of the results were in the doctor sat down with us and gave us our options to aide in solving our problem.
