In the article “ Video Games are Addictive and promote Irresponsible Behavior” authors Lee and Finley claim that video games addiction can have a negative effect on personal health. The authors claim that many people are glued to their video games because of their addiction which has a negative effect on their jobs and personal health. Lee and Finley use appeal to pity in the article about a Korean couple who are addicted to video games, they went out to play video games leaving their four-month-old daughter without anyone watching her while they go out to play video games which later they ended finding their daughter dead when they returned. Authors Lee and Finley provide proof to show why video games are so addictive. They cite a study in which researchers hooked up participants to a functional magnetic resonance imaging machine while they played a simple video game. Scientists from Stanford University’s School of Medicine studied this question why are video games addictive.
