Causes:

- Post War - Colonial settlers moved into new areas. Displaced Indians

British officials failed to maintain wartime alliances with Indians

Tribes attacked settlers and military personnel

Result was the Proclamation of 1763

Britain’s Attitude towards colonies Post French/Indian War

British thought colonists were rude and costly

forts and army of 10,000 “regulars” (to control population movement)-cost money

mercantilist policies were not working and British Custom Officials-cost money
