James Patterson Summer Reading

        James Patterson- Journal Entry 1

Michael and I’s trip to Tennessee was an amazing experience! When we first arrived to

Tennessee we had one of the greatest views we’ve ever seen. This view reminded me of the great

island of Hawaii. This view contained more happiness looking at such a vast environment than

thinking of where I live now. Florida grabs my attention and aspect of life, but I have to admit

that Tennessee felt more gravitating in the wildlife of which I was spending my time in now. As

we were looking at what felt like a quarry was actually a huge lake surrounded by walls of rock

that stretched as tall as skyscrapers and the size of 2 cruise ships on the right and left of this huge

lake. At the very top of the lake was a trampoline and a boating dock that we used till we left.

The chunk of what I called a mountain was loaded with campers, tents, and most of all children

everywhere. This mountain had very few trees so the sun would burn over a great period of time,

so we jumped in the lake. Michael was very excited about living here one day in his future but

was unsure that he would like the winding roads that would get him to his destinations. So far

we’ve had an amazing time but Michael is talking about getting a hotel to stay at for the night

and tomorrow our next adventure would begin within only a matter of time!

Today I have just been informed we are going on a motorcycle ride in the mountains but first we

are on a trip in the motor home. We are now passing the city of Pigeon Forge. They have

go-karting tracks, wax museums, dinosaur rides, and my favorite “The Island.” The Island is a

place with multiple characteristics that included food and fun. We stopped at a mirror maze

while we were strolling The Island and we had a blast bumping into walls and mirrors but

occasionally lasers would hit us and we would lose the game. Now we are getting ready to ride

the motorcycles in the mountains to see some of the best views in Tennessee. So far we’ve taken

routes that are curving more than you’ll ever see in Florida and more than a dragon’s tail. Im

freaking out a little but im getting used to it and im starting to understand why Michael said he

doesn’t want to drive on these roads daily. Now that we are going back downhill it feels a lot

better, but it was such a long ride that was very scenic and almost unbearable for my back

though, so I don’t think I will do it again. We’ve just stopped at Tennessee Chatter Box which is

one of the best steak houses in the U.S. and so far this steak is literally the best and juiciest I’ve

ever tasted. Surprisingly our food came out very late and we got a free dinner!

We have just gotten ready to go to a place called Dolly World Splash Country. Michael told me

its an awesome water park in Tennessee. Once, I wrote a book that took place in a water park

and it was about a boy who got lost while he was walking with his mom. Soon after a guy

kidnaped him and then detectives go on the hunt to find the boy. Also remember this is my first

time going to Tennessee so I really don’t understand some strong country accents a lot of people

have. Im having a blast so far and the entrance was filled with people although I could not see

any slides yet. I had seen a sign saying they just got a new water roller coaster that goes up on a

zero gravity incline and has a belt that takes you up to the very top, then drops you 40 feet down.

We just got in the park and we are tempted to go with our clothes on because we don’t want to

wait anymore but we are heading to the firehouse falls tower that takes you straight down into an

abyss of water. It was so amazing I can’t even explain what a rush it was even though the actual

slide was hurting my back because of the tiny grooves in each piece of the slide. Eventually we
