Psychology Experiment - Bungalsky and Alampay 1961

This experiment is done to replicate an experiment done by Bungalsky and Alampay in the year 1961. The purpose of this experiment was to prove the perceptual set theory that stresses the idea of perception as an active process involving selection, inference and interpretation. In order to prove this, there is a series of things that they’ve done that I will replicate in this experiment. This consists of firstly grabbing an amount of samples that will be tested, afterwards to half of them show them a powerpoint composed of 4 slides each one with one picture of a human figure, either a woman a man or a kid. After these four slides, the fifth will be an ambiguous figure that resembles both an old man and a rat. The other half will be shown another powerpoint consisting of also four slides, but this time in each slide there will be one picture of an animal figure instead of a human. After showing them these series of four slides, they will be presented with a fifth slide showing the same ambiguous picture as the other half of the samples resembling both a man and a rat.
