The psychoanalytic perspective of personality focuses on the influence of the unconsciousness of our minds and our behaviors. It is described that humans have sexual and aggressive drives. Through this theory, it is said that human behavior is determined by irrational forces, the unconscious, and as well as biological drives. It is also said that the psychoanalytic theory brings repressed fears and conflicts into the conscious mind, using techniques such as dream interpretation and free association. It is said that childhood sexuality and unconscious behaviours affect our personalities. This can affect introverts and extroverts as they are unconscious of their behavior and thus do not have much control of their behavior. It is shown that introverts are accounted by this theory because in the introvert’s unconscious mind, it causes their behavior to desire to be by themselves in order to gain energy.
