The youth is the hope of this nation… Jose Rizal, This nation can be great again… Ferdinand Marcos, The Filipinos are worth dying for… Benigno Aquino, The Filipinos are worth living for… Corazon Aquino.

Those are just but lines of hopes and aspirations for the Philippines and for the Filipinos. Add to that their wisdom to make our country outshine the rest of the world. During the downturn of Joseph Estrada's administration, people tried to imitate the revolution that was once led by Corazon Aquino in the dim-lighted pavements of the historical EDSA praying for the renaissance of democracy in the Philippines, but at that different era they wanted to abolish corruption in their beloved fatherland, asking Estrada to stepped-out at the Malacañang Palace.

The Filipinos felt proud and pleased for they had again succeeded another revolution in the name of EDSA II, unity had again ruled them in achieving what is best for their fatherland. Hopes are again within the grasps of the Filipinos. Dreams for the betterment of their fatherland are then again anticipated, for they believed that the next president will do no harm with this won battle cry but give it precise justice.

However when Gloria Macapagal Arroyo paved her way to Malacañang Palace, the idea of unity and the hopes of this nation to be great again had been dumped into trash cans of abhorrence and its blunders can evidently be seen in the dirt of her administration. Side by side allegations thrown to her need not be proven, for it had already hurt many people. Those sins committed by her and her allies are seen like the water inside a plastic bottle.

The Arroyo administration had been invited by Barack to an Arroyo-Obama joint press. Arroyo's visit to the White House is expected to be her last before she stepped out the Malacañang Palace. There is nothing wrong to this visit, though; it in fact tightens the friendship between the Philippines and United States. The news that started the fault of this visit came, Arroyo together with her rampant entourage have a very litigious US$20,000 dinner at a classy New York restaurant, Le Cirque. This lavish dinner happens when the Philippines was in mourning over the death of Corazon Aquino, however that is not the center point of this issue as wrongly pointed out by some commentators, rather it is the insensitivity of the Arroyo administration indulging such sum of money at a time when many Filipinos have nothing to eat, and whether the President admit it or not, the Philippines is in the verge of economic recession. Worst, if the payment was from the taxpayer's money.
