This essay will discuss why there is so much emphasis on gender equality and the effect has on society. Firstly it will first discuss why there is so much emphasis on gender equality in relation education, economic, political and social factors. However the second part of the essay will discuss how emphasis on gender equality has had an impact on society in areas such as education, economic, political and social. This essay will conclude that all human beings irrespective of their citizenship, culture and ethnicity are equal.

Individuals should to be entitled to equality without any form of discrimination. Emphasis on gender equality is something that has long been and currently is a concern in many countries. In the South Pacific, emphasis has been put into gender equality in the field of education, economic, political and social factors. It is important to acknowledge that emphasis on gender equality has had positive impacts on society. This essay will discuss the reasons for emphasis on gender equality and its effects on society.

To begin with, there are many reasons for emphasis on gender equality. One of the reasons is education. In some countries around the world women are still deprived of their right to education which makes it difficult in finding employment thus may lead to poverty. For example, despite progress in recent years, girls continue to suffer severe disadvantage and exclusion in education systems throughout their lives. United Nation statistics showed an estimated 31 million girls of primary school age and 32 million girls of lower secondary school age were out of school in 2012 (UNGEI's website., 2015). Individuals should not be denied education.
