  1.          We historically were opposed to immigrants but in the progressive Era we had actually switch our entire train of thought to helping immigrants in any way. Immigration had become one of the key ideas to the progressive Era and in that time the United States had begun to reach out to them. It’s funny how Immigrants were once and we still didn’t like anyone who wasn’t white or like us in our culture.

                       A person who made this come true was Margret Sanger .Margret believed in proper health care for women and she was in that category with the women’s suffrage group. Another woman well known in this time was Jane Adams and she felt the need to elaborate the experience of America for immigrants. A deed she accomplished for many and give them housing to live in which was a big deal to us because we never really have been this kind to them before.

  1.            Imperialism has dominated and settled the world centuries ago requires a country to grow to be the strongest country we can. Colonization was U.S. went to the Philippines and Roosevelt sent out the great white fleet was a symbol to brag on the United States. He also opened trade markets through the Panama Canal. In order to become a global economy you have to work for it as country. To be able to kick our any uprisings or offensive countries coming towards us we have to build up our military. In the Document 111 there is a major burden on white men for the guilt of how we treated immigrants and blacks in the past. It is said in the Document that it is our Christian duty and a job of Democracy to help others. This is how the United States can expand around the globe by acting on the words we say.

The signs of Depression was the fact that there was production bombing but the bad thing was, even though there were better machines being made and a lot of businesses make more products but the workers did not increase therefore if the economy doesn’t have money, there’s no one to buy all those products. The stock markets had unrepresented highs and big stock markets like in New York had to sell shares of stock to make profit. . On the other hand the Roaring 1920’s was a time of free spirit after the war. There was a lot going on in that time including the flappers which at that time were women dressing loose and they would do short hair cuts to make themselves look more like men The depression came from the Alcohol and divorce rate when shooting up.. These actions showed how the United States were starting to rebel. Herbert Hoover was in office at the time of the government going ahead and saying Laissez Faire. The similar thing about the two was the fact that they were both in the progressive time and the fact that both Women had been involved in each of these categories.
  3. The KKK was organized by William J. Simmons in Stone Mountain, GA in 1915. Organized to preserve the American way of life. They were anti-blacks, anti-Semitic (Jews); anti—Catholic; anti-foreign. They were opposed to the teachings of evolution, Demon rum, 1925 there was the most of them. The lost generation the lost generation left and went to Europe and the KKK stayed in the United States. The similar thing about them both was the fact that they both had strong beliefs and stayed true to them.
  4. Eugene V. Debs was opposed to the war Free speech. Mitchell Palmer wanted to take action in 1920 he leads the Raids to go in to suspecting to see if there was communist businesses. He was against free speech. Their similarities were hat they were both strong advocates.
