Throughout our nation's history, important migrations or movements of people with in the united states have occurred. these migrations have had a significant impact on both the people who moved and on American society. there were plenty of difficulties because of the migrations, and there were plenty of different reason for migrating, such as water shortage or farming space or even food, and jobs.
Americans and European immigrants wanted to live in the west for a lot of reasons. most of the people was hoping they could start new, beginning a new life. others wanted to own their own farms, and be their own bosses. they wanted to move to the west because in the east all these thins were becoming difficult to accomplish.
Many African Americans known as the "Exodusters" migrated to the western lands. Many migrated to escape the violence and exploitations that followed the Reconstruction's, after the Civil War. Many came to the west with very little to their name. Even after some found jobs, only a few had enough to support a family.
