Rosa Parks was a black female that was taken to jail. She was taken to jail because she refused to give up her seat to a white person. The bus she was riding was separated into two sections. One side was for white people, and the other side was for black people.
“Racism is still with us. But it is up to us to prepare our children for what they must meet, and, hopefully, we shall overcome.” That was stated by Rosa Parks. Rosa Parks was a very intelligent black lady. I honestly think that Rosa Parks had the right to not get up because the white people had their own designated seating area. Parks boards a city bus to go home. “Tired as she is, Mrs. Parks walks past the first few — mostly empty — rows of seats marked "Whites Only." It's against the law for an African American like her to sit in these seats. She finally settles for a spot in the middle of the bus. Black people can sit in this section if no white person is standing.” As it says here that you must the part of the bus where no white person is sitting or standing.
All the seats that the whites were sitting in were taken so the bus was full. That’s supposed to mean that if a white person want to sit, the blacks would have to give up their seats. If there was a designated spot for black people, why did Rosa Parks have to switch her seat? I honestly don’t understand that, why do they have a spot for blacks if blacks must give up their seats. The fact that she went to jail for not giving up her seat, I really find that idiotic. If the problem was that bad they would’ve just had to separate busses for blacks and whites. “Following a 30-minute hearing, Rosa was found guilty of violating a local ordinance and was fined $10, as well as a $4 court fee.” Rosa parks had to pay $100 plus a $4 court fee just for not giving her seat to a white person.
