Women couls not inherit becuse they could not be soldiers. land owners could not sale their plots. The settlers were unable to grow grapes or to persuade the sickly worms , that survived the Atlantic crossing to make silk out of Mulberry leaves. The settlers were clambering for Rum. The seven year war
The French dominated the fur trade in Canada and the colonies, they especially controlled the Ohio Valley Region in the mid 18th century. How a group of fur traders from the colonies ventured into the Ohio Valley and were turned back by the French. The French had built a Fort to solidify their presence. The Fort was called Fort Ducane. Delegates from the southern middle northern colonies met at Abony, New York to gather an Army to persuade the neutral Huroki to join their efforts to push the French out of the Ohio valley. The Huroki refused to join the colonist and a young George Washington attempted to attack the French but found himslef lost and lost 1/3 of his men. Another significant victory by the French and their Indian allies caused the Britian to declare war on France in 1756. Thus bagan the the 7 year war. This war was also faught in Connential Europe it involved France, Austria, and Russia, who were fighting against Prussia. British forces were successful in defeating France in its American and Canadian strong holds. The war ended in 1763 with the Treaty of Paris. Under this agreement France gave its American territories to England and Spain an allie of France gave Florida to England. England will receive Florida and all of the French area. Ohio valley which was England forced France to give Louisiana to Spain.
