Hello Gentlemen of the Supreme Court. I am Dred Scott. I am here today to ask for one thing and one thing only. That one thing is my freedom. Here are three of my reasons.
One reason why you should give me my freedom is I have lived on free soil for a very long time. I have on free land as long as some white. Also my master died when I was on free land so that should make me free.
Another reason is that a court in St. Louis said I was free. This made me a free man. Another white man in your own courts said I was free. That’s why I deserve to be a free man. Your government and my master set me free in his will, that’s why I deserve to be a free man. This is why I deserve to be a free man.
My final reason is I faithfully served my master for many years. And in his will
