Not Just My Cousin, My Best Friend
One of the most inspirational people in my life is my cousin Mia. Mia Carol Barbee came into my life when I was seven. My Uncle Bobby and Aunt Jennifer adopted her from China when she was eight. They named her Mia because it was close to her Chinese name “Meow Meow”. She came to America knowing no English, but amazingly learned it in six months. This is Mia.
Mia is Asian, so she has a dark complexion. She is four feet, eleven inches and is very muscular. She is even stronger than me! She is good at every sport, especially volleyball and basketball. In both sports, she is very aggressive and plays with a lot of passion. Her hair is very dark, shiny and thick. As beautiful as she is on the outside, she is even more beautiful on the inside.
Out of all of my cousins, Mia is my favorite because she is kind to me, and we have so much in common. I love funny people, and she sure is one of them. She reminds my whole family of an old lady because she is always making sure everyone is ok and everybody is doing the right thing. We have given her the nickname “Grandma” because of her caring ways. Mia is a strong in her faith with God. She is very humble and never goes first in anything.
