Customer First Sales Training

We have all been to a retail establishment and felt uncomfortable with the sales staff.  I know I don’t want to feel that way when shopping and I am sure you do not as well.  If you are in sales and or customer service and want to increase your sales and have a great customer base that will come back time and time again, then you my friend are in luck.  The customer first training module will make you the best sales person and if you are a business owner a more profitable business.  I am here to teach you the skills to be a top notch sales associate.  This will get you noticed and you will become very popular with people as they shop your department within your store and you will be more confident in selling.  I have studied over the years several different selling methods and combined them into one to make you money as well as having the best customer service in town.  Don’t believe me?  Well give it a try and see for yourself.

The first thing I notice when I go into a retail establishment is the cleanliness of the business.  This shows great management and store ownership.  I can’t tell you how many stores I have walked around in town and seen an inch of dust on product.  To me that shows you do not take ownership in your product or your store.  Taking the extra time to dust product and shelves this will make a total difference to the customer and they will let you know about how clean your store is trust me.  As you are cleaning and dusting your product you need to face your product in your department to make it more organized and more appealing to the customer.  It also looks like your shelves are full, and that is a good thing for a customer to see.  Having the product out on the sales floor also makes a world of difference.

Leaving new merchandise in the backroom or any merchandise in your backroom will not sell.  The customer has to see the item for them to spend their money at your location.  Purging the back room of your stock rooms and going through everything yes is time consuming but if you want to be successful in the world of sales you have to have your product available.  In your store a customer visits your restrooms as well it is important that every hour they are checked and cleaned.  I know I don’t like to go to certain retail stores due to their restrooms not being sanitary, don’t make that mistake believe it or not it drives your customers away.

Taking ownership in your job and having the confidence in yourself makes a huge impact in the way you do customer service not only for the customer but for the company you work for.  I have never seen a company tell you that you can’t be confident in yourself to sell items or even tell you that you can’t take ownership in what you do.  Those things alone make you a successful sales person.

I don’t know about you but I love to have fun at work.  What I mean by that is I love to go into work and make people smile, laugh, and tell me thank you for helping them.  Why can’t you have fun at work?  Is there a rule against it?  Do the bosses say you have to come to work and be negative?  No, they want you to save every sale possible it makes them money, right?  Well if you said right you are correct.  A owner, manager, supervisor wants you to be successful in all you do at work, so having fun selling items is a plus and it will really pay off in the end of any sale.

So now to the management side of things,  If your company does not have a leadership training or how to get the most out of your employee’s training you might want to research that yourself.   Being a leader for a group of sales person’s or anyone in general makes your team strong.  So what can you do to improve your leadership?  The number one thing is communicate to your people.  Your employees watch you’re every move, so much so that they tend to follow your lead if you know what I mean.  You are the leader of your crew you need to be confident not only in yourself but in your job as well.  I have always looked at my manager, supervisor, and owner of my job as a mentor in what I want out of my job.

Being a great leader is about communicating and listening to your team.  You’re the team leader and they look to you for the right answers and the right attitude.  How many of you went to work in a good mood and then your manager or supervisor is grumpy and being negative and in turn you become the same way that day?  I know I have, no one should have to go to work and turn into that person.  Being a leader means showing the best character in every situation to your staff and to the customer.  Remember your staff looks up to you and they indeed follow your lead.  So lead them to being the best that they can be and you will see an improvement in their work habits and will improve the well being of everyone around you.
