Economic Concern

The economic concern I chose for this project was population growth I based my research using two different countries Mexico and the second country I used was the United States. Both countries have had growth I would say Mexico growth rate was much higher as the chart below will show, but they are showing a trend of reducing the numbers faster then the United States over the last few years. Growth is recognized as a key driving force of change to an environment, this holds true especially in developing countries. Mexico has adopted an aggressive family planning program; this planning initiative produced a fundamental change in attitudes that continues reducing the fertility rate among the population of Mexico. The age for which the woman is have a child has increase by almost three years.

Mexico has a free market economy using a mixture of modern and older industry and agriculture, increasingly dominated by the private sector. The Government has expanded the open competition of the railroad, seaports, telecommunications, electricity generation and natural gas. The government of Mexico is aware of the need to grow the infrastructure as the population grows, along with modernize other things such as tax laws, and labor laws. Mexico continues to recover from recent recession ongoing economics and social concerns include low wages, unemployment or questionable income distribution. The Government was not pleased with the growth based on the results from NAFTA so they open the doors for other countries in attempt to increase trade and stimulate more growth at a faster pace. The attempt to shift the population outside of the big cities has become a challenge with the lack of growth of homes and other supports needed in the infrastructure. Approximately 60% of the homes have running water to the sinks or toilets leading to raw sewage and other industrial polluting the rivers in urban areas.

Compared to the United States has approximately 99% of homes have running water and as like Mexico we have a downward trend of decrees in the population of the U.S. at a smaller reduction rate. The people in the U.S tend to live longer but this is due to the medical technology side of things and the availability of medical services to the people of the U.S. There are number that support the fact that say soon the people of Hispanic origin are expected to increase their proportion of the U.S. population from about 12.5 percent in 200 to 24.4
