Pope Joan

My name is John Anglicus, but my birth name is Joan Anglicus and I am the only female Pope or Popess known to history. My story begins in Mainz, a city in Germany and the capital of the German federal state of Rhineland Palatinate. Mainz is located on the river Rhine across from Wiesbaden, in the western part of the Frankfurt Rhine MainArea, (Wikipedia). My exact birth date is unknown. My life notable began in Athens where I began my scholastic. I studied various diverse branches of the government and eventually mastered my studies. I then began teaching at the Trivium in Rome where I taught liberal arts and a masters program. Teaching at the Trivium launched my social status and and truly made me a distinguishable figure in the city of Rome. After realizing my social stance I decided to enter the Roman Catholic church (the most powerful and influential governmental entity at the time) where I was elected a cardinal in the church. My mentor at the time of my cardinal ship was Pope Leo IV. Pope Leo IV unfortunately died in 850 A.D. I then achieved the crowning moment in my life, I was unanimously elected Pope by my peers.

Unfortunately I was only able to hold my position as a Pope for two years, seven months and four days. Ironically the last day I was Pope was also the last day of

my life. I remember my last day as if it were only yesterday. While Pope, I unexpectedly became pregnant. Everything was going well and the pregnancy was going unnoticed. Unfortunately while on business in procession from St. Peter's to the Lateran, in a narrow lane between the Colosseum and St. Clement's church I could not fight my contractions and I gave birth to a son (Wikipedia). My birth was publicly viewed and after the birth was finished the citizens of Rome as well as my peers turned on me (after realizing my true sex).
