Global Communications faces a variety of issues which can ultimately be detrimental to its primary functions. One of the major problems facing global communications is competition such as those encountered in the scenario. For example; local, long distance telecommunication companies and international markets were all competing for the same business. Additionally, it was also established that outsourcing was a major concern as well. “In the wake of global economy and the concomitant increase in competition, more pressure and attention will be drawn to the issue of corporate performance. Outsourcing back-office functions has thus become a very popular tool in the market-place today for fulfilling this goal. The fundamental reason for outsourcing is to achieve high-quality service at a lower price and thereby corporations can focus on the development of their core business”. (Grant Thorton.com, 2007).

The outsourced economy is here to stay therefore, when that happens, you will want a workforce that is nimble, adaptable, and prepared to participate in your organization at a new level of competitiveness. Organizations that partner with their employees will retain those employees when they have the opportunity to become free agents. That’s were employee retention comes in. Employee retention is also considered to be a major concern when it pertains to global communications. Key employee retention is critical to the long term health and success of your business.
