COURSE SYLABUS
COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course is designed to help students understand the global challenges of the twenty-first century, considers globalization within a historical, social, and political framework emphasizing the emergence of modernity.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
At the conclusion of this course, students will be able to:
• Identify and explain current business trends and how to cultivate a business in diverse, global environment
• Describe the typical risks and challenges faced by a global corporation. (Short-answer quizzes and case studies)
• Incorporate financial, marketing and management strategies for competing in the global business environment.
• Display knowledge of cultural differences affecting global business success.
• Evaluate business opportunities and threats across the globe
• Demonstrate an understanding of the challenges faced by a multinational conducting business in globally. (Team project and/or case studies)
TEACHING STRATEGIES
This course uses a combination of lectures, discussions, case studies, and individual research.

Hill, Charles W. Global Business Today, Fifth edition, (2007) McGraw-Hill/Irwin: New York, NY.
STUDENT ASSESSMENT
It is recommended that students’ knowledge be evaluated through the use of quizzes/tests, written assignments, in-class discussions and /or a group research project (written and presented).
Regular attendance and participation in the discussions are very important. The ability to discuss with the professor and fellow students the issues related to the topic of the course is an important part of the learning strategy. Consequently, a portion of the final grade should reflect an evaluation of the frequency and quality of the student's participation in classroom discussion.
