A Passion for Drawing

Have you ever had someone tell you that they think that you are a really good artist? I have and when this happened I started to do more and more drawing and sketching. Has anyone asked you if you could draw something for them because they like the pictures that you draw? I have. Here is my advice on how to become a better artist.

I fist found out that I liked drawing was when I was elementary school. I would always sit in the back of the class and doodle on my desk or on anything that I had like my homework, my folder, my notebooks, sometimes inside of the book that we were reading in class. As I grew I just really enjoyed doodling and drawing all kinds of weird things that I saw in cartoons.

Draw to express yourself. When you are drawing, do what you like and try to make it yours which means add subtle details that are about yourself into your art work. When I draw/sketch I try to do it on something that I like do.

When you are drawing don’t try to make it too perfect or you might end up with something that you don’t like and don’t think too much because I will affect your drawings. So try to not think too much on what you want to draw because you might end up not drawing anything at all or with something that you thought looked cool in your head but when it was on paper it look so cool anymore.

So when you are drawing do what you like and try to make it yours as in add details that are about yourself in your art work. The way that I put myself in what I draw is to put things that are true about what I like to do, like sometimes I draw something that has to do with sports, playing video games, or anything that I enjoy.

Draw something you like when you are starting out. When I first started drawing I drew a dragon from          the Avatar movie. I thought that it looked pretty good, but some people thought otherwise. Even though some people didn’t think that it was a very good drawing I didn’t let their negativity discourage me at all. I never gave up and I kept drawing and over the years I became very good.
