Introduction
Interest/Background : Child abuse is "when a parent or other adult causes serious physical or emotional harm to a child". I am sure you are required to know some of the signs already. Unfortunately, a portion of you do not know the signs, or you are not paying close attention. Children who live in an abusive home have gotten incredibly good at hiding their scars and hiding their fears. Child abuse is a serious problem today. According to National Child Abuse and Neglect Data System (NCANDS), in 2015, an estimated 1,670 children died from abuse and neglect in the United States.
Reveal the Topic : My topic for today is about child abuse
Credibility and Goodwill : I am interested in this topic and have done some research on it. In researching this speech, I learned few types of child abuse.
Preview : Today I will inform you about three types of child abuse which are physical abuse, sexual abuse and neglect.

The first type of child abuse is physical abuse. It is connected with a noticeable physical effect on the child. Usually, it is related to children punishment when they are doing something wrong, but there are a lot of registered cases of physical abuse without any apparent reason. According to The Indiana Division of Family and Children, on the chart, there are few category of physical abuse that have been reported. The chart shows from the most common category of physical abuse to the rarest category. As you can see, the most common category of physical abuse have higher number of reports, namely inappropriate discipline, bruises, wounds, burns, bone fractures and shaking. The rarest category of physical abuse are suffocation, shaken baby syndrome, skull fracture, internal injury, gunshot wounds, poisoning, drug abuse, alcohol abuse and
