Claming an Education.

From ancient times women have been restricted in their rights, they were supposed to get married, give birth to the children, raise children, wait for their husbands to come home from work with dinner on the table. As well, women were discouraged from getting higher education, because it was unnatural. Also in many ancient cultures, women lacked political and equal rights, the right of voice, of choice and etc. In many cultures, women were required to obey their man and were supposed to do whatever man says, and yet nowadays we still see some of it,for example: in some Middle Eastern countries. But the times changed, and now women can got and get Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree if they’d like.

I am from overseas, and obviously I attended school back in my country. Because I have never even been in American high school, I have no clue how teachers are here. But when I was attending high school there, teachers would make assumptions, I wouldn’t say based on my identity, perhaps based on my grades from previous year. Also teachers there may yell at you if you do not understand something from the first or second time, especially in primary schools. The teachers I remember, did not have patience for the kids that were not the smartest once, they always would put the smartest once in front and leave the rest of the class behind, but it was not based on if you are a woman or a man. I cannot say I was the smartest, but I had decent grades at school, and even if I did not understand something, still tried my best. Also my parents were always controlling my grades at school, because it was obviously important to them. I think this is a bit of a problem there, because sometimes parents being very pushy towards their children about grades. And right after the high school they push you to the university. With me it went to the point where I cared more about grades and not about knowledge. Being in the University there, I did not really understand how important that was, to me it was only important, because my mom wanted it.
