Criminal Justive Informative Speech

Ever felt like being strong was your only option? Lots of people around the world have lost close friends and family members to unnecessary acts of violence. These acts of violence include shootings and stabbings without any type of justice or closure. These crimes are impulsive, they’re being committed by people that act without thinking about the consequences. Also, portraying as if shooting at someone or stabbing them isn’t the only way to resolve a problem. According.to Chris Palmer-in an article about unsolved murders in Philadelphia-on Philly.com, “More than half of Philly’s murders got unsolved.” Imagine losing someone you love to a crime that was unnecessary with no type of explanation to what happened and all you have are clues or assumptions on what you thought could have happened. Incidents like these must be stopped immediately. Everyone has a purpose in life and that purpose should not be taken away from them by someone else reacting out of anger, hatred, jealousy, or any other petty reasons. The criminal justice system is made to help protect citizens from dangerous acts of others but how can that happen if these daily murders are being committed and the law enforcement can barely gather information to build a case. A Philadelphia investigator told Chris Palmer in an interview that “witnesses are a thing of the past.” In Philadelphia, there’s an “No snitch rule” where people will not come forward if they’re aware of information that can help with the case because most people are afraid that they aren’t protected. Also, these murders happen because people want to get revenge on the people that did wrong to them instead of letting the law enforcement handle the problem. For example, if your family member has been murdered, instead of telling the police most people would rather go back and retaliate. This doesn’t help the issue because the life of an individual is still being taken. Not only that, there’s also people (mostly the youth) running around with unlicensed weapons, especially guns. I believe going into the criminal justice system is great for me because I know I’ll do everything in my power to put an end to these terrible crimes.
