Franklin D. Roosevelt was the 32nd president of the United States. Roosevelt was president during one of the most horrific times the US has faced, the Great Depression; Roosevelt helped the American people regain and establish faith in themselves. He brought forth hope as he promised, as well as immediate and forceful action.

When the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, Roosevelt directed an organization of the Nation's manpower and resources for global war. Roosevelt Felt that the future of world peace would depend on relations between the United States and Russia, he put much thought to the planning of a United Nations, where he hoped international issues could be settled. Roosevelt dies on April 12, 1945 before the war actually started, but troops were later sent to deal with Japan for their disgusting attack on Pearl Harbor. The outcome of course was of a victorious one for the United States. The legacy of this event was that of a positive one, we dealt with the threat, and taught them to rethink who they mess with. HOORAH!

He was elected President in November 1932, to the first of four terms. The Following March there were 13,000,000 unemployed, as well most banks were closed.
