God-Sent
My mother is sure watching me from heaven. She most definitely sent me an angel in disguise: someone to guide me, to protect me, and to be my rock.
My mother sent me someone to guide me. She was battling cancer and had to go back and forth to M.D. Anderson; meanwhile, a new family had arrived across the street. Little did I know, but they would soon become a true part of my family. During the summer after my mother's death, I shared similar school activities with one of my new neighbors, I became absolute best friends with Logan Shipp, the girl next door. Soon enough, I would find myself at their home almost every single night. I was included in family vacations, holiday celebrations, and even family get-togethers, such as Sunday meals at her grandparents' house. I was even given a spare key to the house! Logan's mother, Dawn, took me into her home and put me under her wing. She has had a huge impact on my life. She has made sure that I stay on the right path, my "Momma Dawn" is an excellent role model. She is deeply involved in her faith and always seems to know where she is headed in life. She may not know it, but she is the reason why I constantly push myself into to doing my best in everything I set my mind to doing. Giving up is never an option because she teaches me to always conquer my fears and to achieve my goals.
My mother sent me someone to protect me. When I am experiencing any kind of harm in any way, shape or form, I know "Momma Dawn" will come to my rescue. She is constantly saying "be save on your way home" or "call if you need anything". She is always making sure that whatever I am doing, I am not in any harm. From calling her to pick me up at a party, to people trying to take advantage of me, she will definitely handle the matter. " You can talk about me, you can talk about my job, but don't you dare make the mistake of saying something about my children." is something she has always said and definitely lives by each day. She includes me in this statement and in her actions to protect me.
My mother sent me someone to be my rock. I have my horrible days and I have my pleasant days. I could be upset about the passing of my mother, or family matter, or even boy trouble, and all I want to do is be with my "Momma Dawn". No matter the situation, she always knows what to say to make me calm down and grasp the situation at hand. She has this magic power, for every time I feel as if I am about to break down, I feel this wave of comfort wash over me. One example is my father brought home a woman for the first time ever, and my "Momma Dawn" helped me cope through it and gave me advice on how to handle it. Also, I cannot cry in front of her, unless it is something extremely horrible; then I am usually in her arms crying. She is truly my rock. Some nights, when I feel as if I cannot breathe because of all of my stress, I text her, "I love you" and just seeing her response " I love you mostest" puts my heart at ease. When something exciting, such as getting a new job or when something horrible happens to me such as finding out my father has Alzheimer's, she is literally the first person I tell. I am so lucky to call her "my person."
