JORDIN TOOTOO AN XTREME SPOKESPERSON

JOSH MORGAN

Introduction

The need for this report is to recommend a spokesperson in order to achieve more applicant diversity. Jordin Tootoo is an Xcellent choice for NoLimits’ spokesperson. He will raise awareness of the scholarship among aboriginal students, being that only 1% of applicants for the scholarship are aboriginal. Jordin Tootoo Xemplifies what NoLimit’s is all about - integrity, enthusiasm and social awareness. He is a leader, the first Inuit to play in the NHL, despite his small stature.

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)

Combines economic, social and environmental outcomes to show a company’s position. A good CSR creates trust and advantages for businesses. Shareholders care as it shows the direction a company is heading, and effects how consumers and communities view a firm. Maintaining a good initiative for CSR will boost a corporation’s bottom line. Consumers will positively view a company that is environmentally and socially aware. With Jordin Tootoo as your representative, his charity work will do wonders to show consumers what you really care about.

Integrity

Jordin Tootoo is an Xtreme role model on and off the ice. He shows respect to the loss of his brother by having his named engraved on all of his sticks. He has a history of charitable work, such as:

Appears on posters encouraging youths to stay in school.

Is painted on a mural in a Rankin Inlet youth center.

Teaches at the Mike Thomas Professional Hockey School.

He teaches youths not to let things get you down, from racial insults in his Junior Hockey days to the passing of his brother Terence.

Enthusiasm

Jordin Tootoo is full of enthusiasm; he is an enforcer in the NHL. Quick to become fan favorites, enforcers provide leadership in the dressing room as well. He does not let the death of his brother, Terence; cease his efforts to live out his dream of playing in the NHL. The first Inuit to play in the NHL, he is a role model among many youths. Giving his full effort on the ice every night, he is not driven away by off ice activities either. Standing only 5’-9” tall, one of the NHL’s shortest players, he plays a lot bigger. He shows that with hard effort, anything is possible.
