Ken Kesey

Ken Kesey was born in 1935 and past away recently in 2001. He grew up on farms in colorado and Oregon. He spent his college years at the University of Oregon. While attending that University he pursued

theater and wrestling. All through high school Kesey had a girl friend who he ended up getting married to and they had three children together. An interesting fact about Kesey is that he wrote a book called One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest while he was on LSD.

A really popular work of Kesey’s was One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s nest. This book was published in 1962, and was an immediate success. This book interested many people due to the fact that it was based on his experiences with mental patients. This book has to do mainly with individuality and rebellion against conformity. Individuality and rebellion against conformity were very important topics in the United States at the time this book was written.

One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest is about Ken Kesesy’s experiences with mental patients. The novel shows a lot of individuality about all different mental patients.
