My Typical Wednesday
My Wednesdays at Indiana State University, also referred to as ISU, are mainly spent in books. My alarm erupts with sound at 8:45 A.M., I realize that it is time for the weeks daily cleaning. On Wednesdays, I have three classes, that equal two and half hours of class time, that I attend. I also go to four hours of tutoring, to pass my CASA exam, to get into the Bayh of College. After 5 P.M., I head back to my dormitory where I do a great deal of studying. Once I am done studying, I head to the Rec Center with my friends to play Wednesday night soccer. My normal Wednesday at Indiana State University encompasses an assortment of the weekly cleaning, CASA tutoring, studying, and playing soccer at the rec center.
Wednesdays are the designated days for cleaning my dorm room. On this day, my roommate and I wake up early to clean the closet, bathroom, and living space. My roommate and I typically take turns with the bathroom since it is generally the dirtiest. We dust the drawers and photograph frames, disinfect the bed posts, and color code the closet. We clean the inside of the refrigerator and microwave since it tends to get nasty over time. After we finish the weekly cleaning, I make my way to CASA tutoring in University Hall.
Entering the early afternoon of the day, I spend in the CASA tutoring sessions. I go to tutoring sessions every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Except I go for an extended period on Wednesdays because my schedule allows it. I work out of the book for roughly an hour before departing for class, then after class I reunite with the tutors. This tutoring is important for me because I need to pass the CASA, Core Academic Skills Assessment, to be accepted into the Bayh of College. After attending the session, I travel back to my dormitory where I prepare myself a rewarding meal and begin studying.
Although cleaning and tutoring is important, studying is of greater importance. I typically study four hours a day, but on Wednesdays I study only two hours. I only study two hours because I want to give myself a break from tutoring. I also want to allow the knowledge from the CASA tutoring session to be retained and not forgotten in the midst of my studying. After attending three classes on Wednesdays, I have an agglomeration of homework and readings to do. I am extremely thankful that ISU uses block scheduling. Post studying, I begin walking to the rec center for the weekly soccer match.
