Odyssey was Seduced and ‘Set off the path’ by many things. Those things pushed him far away from this path to Ithaca. Odyssey was seduced by calypso, punished by Poseidon, the god of the sea and went to Hades to have a prophet tell him his future. The following are more in-depth descriptions of his struggle on his journey.
Odyssey, while on his travels to Ithaca becomes trapped on calypso islands called Ogygia. He then becomes calypso’s love slave. He wishes to return to his wife and son. But is stranded and has no ship or crew to bring him home. Zeus then sends Hermes to convince calypso to let odyssey build a ship and return home.
Odyssey is then on his way home when Poseidon, god of the sea, finds him sailing home and sends a storm to wreck his ship. Poseidon is not fond of Odyssey because of what he did to his son, the Cyclops and blinded him. Athena intervenes to help Odyssey and save him from the wreck and brings him to
