The Case of the Lion Dance by Laurence Yep is about Lily

and her great Auntie, Tiger Lil, trying to solve a mystery to find out who wants to sabotage the Wok Inn restaurant.

Auntie is hired to publicize the opening of the Wok Inn restaurant because she learned a lot about the public in her movie career. She plans to have a lion-dance competition with lots of firecrackers. Her plans are sabotaged when someone sets off a bomb. Police think that she overdid with the firecrackers until she finds clues that lead to the real thief which happens to be the restaurant’s waiter whose name is Bernie! I think that the police should not have judged Auntie alone.
