Singapore Trip
Singapore Trip
I was born and raised in a middle class family in a countryside area in Viet Nam. My childhood was filled up by school days and the football under the summer sunshine with my friends. When I was a kid, I always traveled with my parents, there were many fun and many experiences. I felt in love with trips but my mom always kept me in safe. When I went to university, I had to live alone without parents. This was a really crazy and amazing period. I got a Trip to Singapore to visit my friend without permission from my parent. This trip left in me so many lessons and new experiences.
Tho is my close friend, he was my classmate in the university class. We have a lot of things at the same, such as football and playing computer games so these brought us closer to be close friends. After University, he has gone to Singapore for master program. He invited me to come to Singapore to travel and visit him, this Trip leaded to so many crazy things.
A summer day of July 2014, that was really hot summer, the temperature was always higher than 100 degrees. This was the summer holiday so I had so much free time. No school, no working, everything I could do is staying at home and playing games all days, all nights so that was really sucks and boring. I played game with Tho and complained about the boring summer. He asked me to come and play with him in the summer. Oh, why not, a crazy idea grew up in my mind. Next morning, I asked my parents but fortunately they said “NO” because they did not believe in me, I did not know English to travel alone, I have never travel by myself. I was really upset and hated my parents about it. I avoided meeting them and talking to them because I wanted to show that I was really upset. Some horrible days passed, I was so bored and I still wanted to go to Singapore. At the crazy moments, I booked a ticket to Singapore without the permission from parents. A several stupid and crazy things happened from this moment.
I did not have much money, I spent most of my money on flight tickets. This trip was not allowed from my parents so I went to Singapore, where I have never been before, no luggage, no extra clothes. I brought only passport and $130. In the early morning, I took a bus to the airport in the silence. The airport staffs were so suprised, I am the first passenger going to oversea without luggage. Before the plane left, I called my mom to tell her about my trip. I wanted they knowing my trip and do not too worry about me. Actually, she was so angry and rebuked me so much. Immediately, I hang off my phone and turn on airplane mode. After 4hours flight, I took a first step in Singapore, The first thing I did: informing my mom that: I am in Singapore safety and I will be back next week so do not too worry.
No luggage, I left the airport quickly to meet my friend waiting for me outside. That moment was so thrilling to meet close friend after long time no see in the oversea country. There were too many things to talk after long time. We talked about the new life, the future and also about girls surely on the way from airport to his house. When we got there, I was really shock about his room, it is really small as a bathroom, only a single bed and a small table in his room. More surprising, He had to spend about $500 on renting it. In my country, I can rent a house or a 3 bedrooms apartment by $500. “Oh, Too expensive”, I exclaimed. That night, I slept on the couch in the living room. It was not soft and the noise from outside kept me awake until the next morning. I woke up at 1Pm by the noise someone opening the door. Tho just came back from school, he had to go to school every weekdays. His school is far from his house because he saves money by renting a room far from downtown. I recognize that: Study abroad is not easy life. Everything is so different with the photos they posted on Facebook. He had to face Stressful life without family, do everything himself... I woke up and had breakfast at 1Pm. I went to swimming poor that afternoon and had dinner with the special food in Singapore, named “Frog Soup”. Fortunately, it was too spicy with me so I did not like them at all.
