“Stuck in the Bike”
“Ouch!!” I kept saying as I kept looking at my Achilles tendon bleed, and feeling the doctor poking me with needles. “Don’t worry, just a couple of stitches and you’ll be good to go”, she said. I just wished she would hurry up because I couldn’t stand to look at my bloody foot anymore. “So what happened? How did you hurt your self so bad?” asked the doctor.
“Well, it all started one sunny Saturday morning, in Colombia. I decided to go outside and play with my Barbie Dolls. As I played, some teenagers from the neighborhood asked if I wanted to go bike riding with them. I didn’t know how to ride my bicycle yet, I still rode a tricycle. I called my dad and asked him to come outside. As they talked, I would watch them discuss the race and point at the streets they would ride on but at the time I had no clue what was going on.
‘Baby, go inside because I am going to race with the boys’ my dad told me.
‘But daddy, I want to go too!’
‘No, you are too young to be racing around, and plus something can happen!’
‘Daddy please!!!!’
‘Fine, but not on your own. You’ll get on the bike with me’
So he went inside and brought out a pillow to put on the bar so I would be comfortable and then he sat me on it.
‘Okay, hold tight so you wont fall, and never at any point put your feet near the wheels or your going to get hurt’ he said strictly.
As excited as I was to be in a race, I said ‘okay’ to everything that he told me. Then, one of boys said;
