When colleges have potential students that are applying to attend their college, they are looking at the student social media accounts so they can be given personal aspects of those students. Social media is a network of people all over the world to communicate and to be updated of about what is going on in that person’s life. It is a platform to be able to express whatever is going on in your life or your head. So this is why colleges should be able to have a look on appliers for their college’s safety and reputation.

In a survey of 34,000 high school seniors that registered for the SAT, only a third of them were considered to be not at all concerned about their social media and that specifically shows how much little of social accounts there are to allow those certain seniors to be admitted to a college. College applicants need to be aware of what others can find about them on social networks and make sure it reflects well on them for better or worse, social media has become an established factor in college admissions, and it's more important than ever for applicants to make wise decisions.

It’s not as if social media wasn’t already popular three years ago, but in just three years, the trend has went to another level.
