He prepared to plunge his knife into the chest of his own father as he was sleeping. “Happy birthday daddy” he said just as he thrust the knife through his ribcage.
“Whoa!” Jeff said as he woke up from his haunting dream. ‘That was weird. It seemed so real too!” He said to himself. As Jeff got ready for school he had it on his mind the whole time. What did it mean? He kept wondering. Upon going downstairs, he remembered that it was his fathers’ birthday that day. His mother had set up a huge breakfast for her husband on the kitchen table and the rest of the family was sitting around the table eating it. “Well you took your time didn’t you boy?” his mother said to him as he got to the bottom of the stairs. “Sorry mum, my mind was a million miles away” Jeff replied as he sat down at the table and served himself some bacon. “Well you better be out there with your mind ‘cos I'm gonna bring a world of pain down onto you. Did you forget you fathers birthday present?” She snapped at him. “I'm gonna have to pick it up after school mum. I left it at Joe's garage” he replied as he ran out the door.
After school he walked over to Joe's Garage. “Hey! Joe! You here?” he yelled out from the door. “Yeah. I'm under the HQ sandman with all the different panels buddy” came a voice from under one of the many wrecked cars currently being restored. “Just a sec.” Jeff heard as a tall man slid out from under the car. Jeff went to shake his hand but had second thoughts about it as he was covered in grease. “You got it here?” Jeff asked him. “Yeah its in the back I’ll just go grab it for ya.” Joe replied as he started to walk towards the back of the car. “Here, catch he said as pulled a box out of the back and threw it at Jeff. “Thanks, mate, I’d love to hang around but I’ve gotta run. I’ll see ya tomorrow ok?” Jeff said as he started walking out of the garage. “Yeah that’s fine buddy but you’ve gotta help me with this lump ok?” Joe yelled at him as Jeff reached the garage door. “Bye” they both yelled out.
When he got home, the whole family was there including Jeff’s fathers’ side of the family. After a few quick hello’s Jeff ran over to his dad and gave him his present. “Well. Open it” he said as his father stared at it. His father untied the string around it and ripped off the wrapping paper to reveal a box, which he then opened and pulled out a large 10-inch knife. “Thanks son I’ve been needing
