The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of The Ring begins in the Shire with Frodo Baggins and his three companions (Samwise Gamgee, Meriadoc Brandybuck, and Peregrin Took) traveling to his knew house at the edge of the Shire while being pursued by black riders, the Ringwraiths that serve Sauron. He then travels through the Old Forest where they come upon an odd man named Tom Bombadil. After leaving the Old Forest they cross the Barrow-Downs where they’re captured by a borrow-wight. Tom Bombadil helps them escape from the Barrow where they found their fire brand swords made by the Men of Westernesse. Then they make their way towards Bree where they meet Strider at The Prancing Pony Inn. The next mourning they fled Bree, discovering that the Black Riders had tried to put an end to their journey in the night. They are to meet Gandalf on the mountain of Weathertop but Gandalf is not their and they are attacked by the ringwraiths. Frodo is stabbed by the chief of the Nazgul with a Morgul blade that slowly brings Frodo into their world. They then make with haste to Rivendell where they escape pursuit and Frodo is healed. Once there Frodo meets his uncle, Bilbo Baggins, who gives him a coat of elvish mail and dagger. Then he and many others have council with Elrond.
