Why I like to Write

Why I like to write is because it soothes me. It makes me feel more at ease with things it almost as if I have a friend without having a friend if that makes any sense. I can explain myself without having to explain myself. Things just become clearer as I began to write. I can be filled with so much emotion but once I have a chance to write the things out it is like a weight has been lifted from my shoulders. The problems of the world no longer exist.

When I was a teenager I was diagnosed with anxiety and depression.  Being 17 years old and losing my mother brought a great deal of pain for me. I had to see a therapist who suggested that I began writing down how I felt each day. I had to keep a journal and when I would see him we would’ve go to the journal for that week and this help me to understand my condition even better.  Built up emotions I could put in to this journal and get it out. That journal saved my life.  Helping me to deal with things better. I am this same way till this day I feel way better about situations if I just write them out.

Writing soothes me because for me it’s a stress reliever. Writing forces, you to think about the events of the day that somehow made you angry or sad.  Now you can clarify what caused those events. Writing just relaxes you and puts you into a meditative state.  Writing always serves a great purpose. Especially for me such as grocery lists. I seem to forget what I even went there for in the first place. When I write the things down that are needed I don’t forget.

While others may refer to writing as a difficult task. Some may see it as a good thing to do. Some people are talented writers and just have that gift.  Writing about something that you care about this will open your thought process just a bit more to writing. This way you can have your own views and points and are able to express yourself freely.  You learn just a bit more about yourself and your thinking process when you write.
