African Americans Deserve Reparations.

The purpose of this research study will be to explain why I think African Americans deserve Reparations. Africa, before so many of their beautiful people were stolen by the European who viewed them as a great source of economic growth for their colonization project. African were even sent many to other parts of the Middle East, and Europe, the Caribbean, an also in South America. Although this research has explored how American slavery was highly different from that which had taken place in other parts of the world and how it affects today’s society. This research will argue that some form of compensation is necessary to correct the violation of Africa American's rights and right to economic growth. This process should start with giving reparations to the African Americans whose ancestors were former slaves so that maybe the African race can regain some dignity, and to start over by putting and end to pain and stressful nature of their environment. (Brophy, Alfred L. 2006 Reparations: Pro & Con) states that Although some may be satisfied with truth commissions and apologies and think that kind of disclosure and repentance is sufficient, for many the an apology is merely opening steps to a larger program of compensation. There are ways of putting a claim before the pubic and a way of preparing people to understand why reparations are heavily needed.

Even though the Americas absorbed relatively few of these Africans, the greatest bulk more than eighty-five percent of the ultimate total were sent to Brazil, and some of the various Caribbean Islands, The United States, or for most of the slave-trade years, the colonies that would later become the United States. The actions of slavery that were utilized in the U.S. was a process which was followed by the acts of horrendous exploitation of labor forces, which were dehumanizing to those who had to take part in this systematically damaging work force. This was a far more horrendous to the mental psyche introducing the racial element of Master/Slave relationships. Although the use of humans as domesticated animals goes all the way back to ancient times, the Atlantic slave trade which was nothing to compare.( Nettle, Rex, Racial Discrimination/ the Trans- Atlantic Slave Trade and Slavery Psychic inheritance. 2007) Throughout the time period of 1654 until 1865, slavery for life was legal within the boundaries of the present United States, and profiting of slaves as legal. Slave holding was mainly in the southern parts of the United States, initially many of the holding had cultivated as an efficient machine-like gang system of agriculture.

Having supplanted "race" with a well-defined concept of ethnicity, the author then argues for a notion of racism that must encompass not only racist beliefs but also racist actions, omissions, and attempted actions. His aim is to craft a definition of racism that will prove useful in legal and public policy contexts. Corlett places special emphasis on the broad questions of whether reparations for ethnic groups are desirable and what forms those reparations should take: land, money, social programs? He addresses the need for differential affirmative action programs and reparations policies--the experiences (and oppressors) of different ethnic groups vary greatly. (J. Angelo Corlett, 2003)

In the nineteenth century the U.S.'s wealth was dramatically increased by the labor of Africans. The planters achieved wealth and social and political power in the United States because of slavery. Starting in Maryland, Virginia, and the Carolinas, but the original points of the main destinations was in Kentucky and Tennessee. Briefly after in 1810 Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana and Texas had begun to receive the most slaves. In the 1830s, almost Three-Hundred Thousand were transported, with Alabama and Mississippi receiving One-Hundred Thousand slaves each. Within Every decade between 1810 and 1860 saw at least One-Hundred Thousand slaves moved from their state of origin. In the final decade before the Civil War, Two-Hundred and Fifty-Thousand were moved.( Lewis, Lester, Slavery time for some home truths (Diaspora).2003)

In Michael Tadman, 1989 book Speculators and Slaves: Masters, Traders, and Slaves in the Old South, clearly states that (60-70% of interregional migrations were the result of the sale of slaves.) In 1820 a child in the Upper South had a 30% chance to be sold South by 1860. Considering recent legislation in favor of reparations to blacks from corporations that have profited from financing slavery like JP Morgan Chase, Aetna and others, do you agree or disagree that modern African Americans deserve an apology for the wrongs committed against their ancestors
