In the works written by Homer who nothing is known about him but his name. The Greeks believed that he was blind. The Greeks also believe that the Iliad, and the odyssey is a great Masterpiece written by Homer. The Iliad is the first written of the two poems. It is a war fought by the Trojans against the Achaeans for the recovery of Helen, the wife of Achaean Manilas. The battle for Helen took place in troy. In book one the two main characters in the Iliad are Achilles and Agamemnon.
The subject of the poem is rage. Apollo is angry with the Greeks because Agamemnon refused the ransom that him for priest chryses was giving him for his daughter back. Apollo then sends a fatal plague and the men began to die. Calchas is the prophet in the Iliad and he explains Apollo's anger to Achilles and tells him he explain it if he takes care of him. He asks Achilles for his word to never let anything or anyone hurt him. Agamemnon agrees to do what calchas says because he is ready for the plague to leave and stop killing all of his people,
