It is not a Eurocentric bias or incorrect with historical records to state that the 18th century was an age of progress. The 18th century was able to obtain the term, age of progress due to the massive changes which occurred around the world. Issues which arise exemplifying an age of progress were the Asian influence on world economy, the American Revolution and the rise of Islam.
The Asian economy played a major part in the development of non-European power. With the economy booming in trade, Asia held an important role in the world wealth. This is portrayed when countries such as China or India were able control the global trade economy. These two countries were so powerful that many Europeans countries would look for map passage to enter their trading block. This is observed when France, Britain competed against each other by sending navigators to obtain a new map direction. They believed the quickest way would benefit them economically. Asia was also viewed as a place to obtain valuable obsession. For instance, the country of china was able to import their porcelain design all over the world. Europe and other nations wanted these designs because they saw it as opportunity to copy and mass product this all over the world. Also, Asia was able to stay ahead of the competition with their highly productive objects such as medicine, silk and art designs. This occurrence showed Asia age of progress because they were able to lead the technology aspect of the trading block.
The American Revolution that occurred in 1776 was a stepping stone in America history because they were able to obtain freedom from British control. Americans along with their rebellion fighters waged war against the Britain, this transpired because they wanted to show the world their powers. American revolutions were an age of progress because they were able to create the declaration of independence. This constitution was used to affirm the sovereignty of land and the rights of American citizens. By creating this major constitution many countries followed American influence when writing their laws. Also American Revolution portrayed to all nations in crisis an example of reasonable constitution. For instance, many scholars believe the French revolt against the monarch was interpreted due to this action. One might say the age of progress was America being able to function properly after they removed their number one supplier of help.
Also during the 18th century, the rise of Islam exemplified an age of progress. Islam was a religion introduced by Prophet Muhammad, they believed in the teaching of the Quran which asserted god's teachings. Their main objective was to spread their teachings around the world. Islam which
