“Mohandas Gandhi’s Influence in the World”
Mohandas Gandhi became a leader of India’s independence movement. He organized boycotts against British Institutions in forms of civil disobedience. Mohandas was a pacifist; he never used violence to solve his problems. He once expressed “Happiness is when what you think, what you say and what you do are in harmony.” This connects to the book To Kill a Mocking Bird by showing us that one person can cause drastical changes with simple acts of kindness. Most people agree Mohandas Gandhi proved that one man can take on an empire.
Gandhi’s ethics reveal he has the power to take on an empire. To be such a great leader just as he was it takes a lot of physical and mental strength. Gandhi had to go through many tough situations where he knew his life was at risk, but still he decided to stay and defend his word. If he had not been such a strong person, he would not have gotten through all the suffering it took. He was a powerful person. He led the Salt March knowing he was going to get arrested. He was proud of leading the people. Thousands of people followed him because they admired and believed in him.
Gandhi’s intelligence gave him power to take on an empire. His emotional intelligence was well developed which gave him an advantage over other people. He had great ability to express emotions, to use emotions to facilitate thinking. Gandhi’s words touched millions of people. Just as Dr. Philips Talbot recalled “Gandhi had an extraordinary capacity to talk to his massive crowd on a one to one basis.” Gandhi always found a way to make things better for the people. His ability to talk to people in a way they would understand was incredible. He always found a way to get people’s attention.[pic 2]
