The University of Mississippi is a community of learning dedicated to nurturing excellence in intellectual inquiry and personal character in an open and diverse environment.
As a student coming from a private school, I definitely have been educated about diversity during my time on campus, but specifically this EDLD class. We had a speaker come and speak about diversity. I have also noticed how diverse the culture of this University can be. Most organizations make a point of including everyone in everything that they do. I have noticed this a lot in front of the Union when we have guest musicians come.
As a voluntary member of this community:
I have the choice of abiding by this creed.
I believe in respect for the dignity of each person.
Each person on campus (students, teachers, professors, administrators) is their own person. They should not be treated differently in any way
I believe in fairness and civility.
I definitely believe that fairness should be a big part of this University and everyone that comes into contact with us. Whether it is grades, athletics, or just the way someone is treated, fairness should be used in all situations. I also believe that everyone on this campus should act in a civil manner. I believe this
