A light in a dark world even when every one around him was in the dark
David Wilkerson a country preacher whom God called to provide a ministry to those who
where hurting, and able to make a difference in New York city. He established a ministry
called teen challenge. His family and his church supported him a man of prayer who
learned to obey God instantly. The lives of so many teens in New York city are the way
they are to this day because this remarkable man made a difference because of his willingness to mind God.
David Wilkerson demonstrated boldness, servant hood and trust by sharing his faith in dangerous situations. He served God even when God asked him to do challenging things. He trusted God to provide in these situations He demonstrated boldness after by holding up his bible in a courtroom when he was pressuring gang members that he wanted to help.
This exemplified boldness gave him the contacts that he needed to start his ministry.
He demoushated boldness when he met Nicky Cruz who’s vary contemptuous and threatened to kill him, and Dave responded with, “You could do that you could cut me in a thousand pieces and lay them out on the street, and every piece would still love you”. This statement caused Nicky to accept Christ later.
He also displayed the quality of servant hood when he moved his family to New York to begin a full time ministry to gang members. He sensed God calling him to go from a country church were he felt safe and secure to the streets of New York where he and his wife where put in constant danger. He went out on the streets talking face to face to people. This experience showed him that he had to follow up on those who responded to Gods call of salvation. He realized that they needed a place to go where people could go and secure home away from the city. He decided to do what God called him to do and believing God for a miracle to
