The new Aquaventure in the Atlantic Bahamas Resort was built by Sol Kerner who also built the hotel. This new attraction opened on February 16, 2007. It opens at 10:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. in the winter and to 5:00 P.M. in the summer. Aquaventure is open to hotel guests where the fee is built into the rates, and to the public based on availability. The park consists of 63-acre waterscape. It is one of the largest in the world containing over twenty million gallons of water.
The Current is the lazy river which has nearly three million gallons of water, seven-foot high lifts and drops and has white-water rapids. Guests can either follow the flow of the water or go into the waterslide. The Power Tower consists of four ways down. You can pick from the Abyss, Drop, Surge, and the Fall. Abyss is a fifty foot vertical drop through the center of the tower into darkness which then passes through a waterfall, “filled with menacing Alligator Gars”. The Drop is an inner-tube slide. Guests ride a conveyor up to the 58-foot-high level then slide down. The “master-blaster”
