The following essay will propose a campaign song for the current California State Treasurer and a democratic candidate for California State governor, Phil Angelides. In campaigning it is very important that you have a strong theme song. A catchy theme song can capture the attention of voters and attract more attention toward a candidates' campaign. Songs may introduce new demographics of voters, such as the younger generation . It is important not to select anything that may offend a certain demographic, so it does become tricky in choosing the right song. I have chosen a song that appeals to old and new voters, "One Vision" by the legendary rock group Queen. I felt this song was fit because of the lyrics it has provided and it helps send the message of the vision and stance Phil Angelides has taken. In this essay I will discuss the issues in which Mr. Angelides is associated with as well as his strengths as a candidate. I will further discuss why I believe "One Vision" is a great campaign song as well as some messages that it may send. I will conclude with where I believe this song would play a great role.
