The career path that maybe possible for someone who likes cars is to maybe become a race car mechanic. The reason this is a really good career is because it involves having be around cars all day and also a team who are all very interested and highly knowledgeable about cars. It is not very difficult to become a race car mechanic. It takes some education and specialized training in a particular area. There are special trade schools such as Universal Technical Institute and WyoTech where they offer such programs. Many people might think mechanics is a low end job, but in fact it is a very physical job, high paying, and there is a big demand for them today.
The education and training required for becoming a race car mechanic may vary depending on what exactly what someone wants to do. There are no formal educational requirements to become a race car mechanic. However, many employers rather hire people who have some experience working with or around race cars. One of the ways to gain experience is to volunteer at a race track and help them out in return for experience. Another way and most recommended is to go to a technical school. A great technical school to go to is Universal Technical Institute (UTI). They offer one year programs that teach mostly everything needed to know about cars. Classroom work has to be done but most of it is hands on learning. By taking the course, it will increase some ones chances of becoming hired in the field since there are few employers today who are willing to train employees who have no experience. Also these schools are also affiliated with major companies that might be interested in hiring a new mechanic after completion of the course.
The working condition for these people can be very relaxing but also very rough and demanding. Race car mechanics work both inside in shops and garages, and outside in pit stop areas close to the racetrack. These garages where the cars are built, maintained, and repaired tend to be very big and well lit areas. These are usually located on the race circuit and speedways.
Being a race car mechanic can also be very physically demanding for a few. Mechanics have to be able to handle heavy equipment at all times. They have to be very fast at what they are doing such as refueling a car, changing a tire, and taking care of anything else that is needed to be done since they only have a few seconds to do all of this.
