Curse Words Allowed At Dances?

While not everyone swears, field studies indicate individuals utter 80 or more bad words per day, on an average 15,000 to 16,000 words are spoken daily, as posted by NBC News . I believe songs with curse words should be allowed. Everyone has either said or heard a profane phrase. We cannot hide the fact that there will always be curse words whether it is in social media, music, videos, television shows or movies. They are around us all the time and have even been read in the bible. We have to be aware of these kinds of phrases, they cannot just be cut out of our daily lives.

Most individuals have listened to a song that has a vain word. Curse words are heard frequently in today’s music. Most television shows and movies typically have at least one curse word. An article in the Los Angeles Times, The Creeping of TV Bleeping dated June 2011, says that the FCC is lessening its restrictions and fines for this type of language. Cable is not as regulated as standard networks, but they both have lots of swear words bleeped out that is very expressive. Whether it be Steven Tyler f-words on American Idol, to shows like The Office. I do not have an issue of hearing a curse word in music at dances as they are generally already playing on the radio. This type of language is an expression of art and emotions. As we begin to prepare for high school, we need to be familiar with these types of phrases throughout society and their purpose. As freshmen next year, it is likely we will hear them at least twice as much as we did in middle school. If we attend a private high school, that does not mean we will be less likely to hear them.

On a day-to-day basis we hear someone say inappropriate language. I do not think it is okay, but it is not the worst thing people are capable of doing. Unfortunately, foul language will always be around us. It is best if we are able to identify and understand their meanings and their usage sooner than later. Our parents should have been laying out morals for us and how to react to hearing these kinds words.
