David Crockett
David was born in 1786 in Greene County East Tennessee .His grandparents were murdered before he was born. Creek and Cherokee Indians killed them. When he was 12 years old he was bound to a cattle a drover. Not having luck with the education, so he decided to runaway at the age of thirteen in 1799. He did this to avoid his fathers punishment. What he did is got a job to support him self . He had returned home in 1802 . As he got there they did not notice him because he had grown. When they notice him all was forgiven . After that he had to work off his fathers debts. He also went back to school.
On October 21, 1805 he took license to marry Margaret Elder . He had never used the license . He actually got married to Polly in 1806 after his twentieth birthday. They lived in a small cabin near his family. That's were there two sons were born who names are John Wesley and William. After his wife's death he married a widow. The widow had two little kids.
After that , he had became commander of the battalion in Creek Indian War. He also became a member of the Tennessee legislature in 1821-1822 and again in 1823-1824. Being in the Tennessee Legislature and to be a part in the Congress of the UNITED STATES was an
honorable moment to him.
As a congressman , David supported rights of squatters who were not allowed for buying land in the West without owning property. He was removed from service on March 27,1815. Then David was chosen for Lieutenant colonel of the fifty seventh Regiment of Tennessee Milita .
In October, David left Tennessee for Texas writing a book called " I want to explore Texas well before I return . " He traveled to other places to see
