ABSTRACT:

The word Euthanasia has been derived from two Greek terms “Eu” means True and “Thanatos” means death. So, it is basically a combination of two Greek words making a term “Good Death” denoting thereby the practice which results in finishing one’s life in order to provide him relief from the pain or suffering. Or it may be defined as the practice of ending a life prematurely in order to end pain and suffering. “It is a practice also known as assisted suicide, Physician-assisted suicide(dying), doctor-assisted dying (suicide), and more loosely termed mercy killing, means to take a deliberate action with the express intention of ending a life to relieve intractable(persistent, unstoppable) suffering”[1].
