My most interested focus area is Business and Applied Business. This area stands out to me because I love business! My dream job is to become a business attorney. To go into business, you need to be organized and have incredible presentation skills. I believe that I am a very organized person. I always have my homework done in time, I always have the papers in my binder in the right dividers and at home my bookshelf is organized alphabetical by author. Being a representative at the public speaking contest in grade 6 and the valedictorian in grade 7, I believe that my presentation skills are outstanding. After high school I would love to be an accountant or a marketing executive. Performing as an accountant means that you work with numbers and also get the chance to interact with different people, two interests I have. On the other hand, being a marketing executive, I will get the chance to be creative and use presentation skills to “wow” my management team.
Going to a big school, I am very fortunate to have so many electives to choose from. However, if my school did not offer these courses, I could take the course at another school during the summer or find a tutor that is taking the course in university to help me understand the fundamental idea to the course. The three electives that stand out to me the most are Financial Accounting 12, Marketing 12 and Management Innovations 12. Just recently taking introduction to business and doing a unit on accounting, I have learned how to do balance sheets and income statements very fast. I have interest in this elective because I enjoy doing math and dealing with numbers. Marketing interests me because I love doing projects, especially power points and having the chance to show them off. Lastly Management Innovation interests me because the thought of owning my own company sounds really interesting. Being the boss and having the power to speak my mind whenever would be magnificent.
My second choice of a focus area would be Sciences and Applied Sciences. This area interests me because I want to be able to create new medicine and technology that will help the world. To go into science, you must be curious. Since I was little I have always been curious. I have always wanted to find out how things work. I have always been creating my own “TV shows” about how the earth was created or about how rain is formed. I’m also not afraid to ask dumb questions because I am curious. Another skill I have is collaborating with other people. I work really well with others. My partner and I did an amazing job together writing the valedictorian speech. I always enjoy working together with new people. Going to camp as a volunteer, I get the chance to meet new people and create new activities with them. My dream job in this area would be a biomedical engineer. I would get to create artificial devices for people with disabilities. My second job would be becoming a pharmacist. This job offers me the chance to assist people with their medication and the chance to communicate with them.
